A positive duty is a legal obligation for all employers to take proactive and meaningful action to prevent relevant unlawful conduct from occurring in the workplace or in connection to work. This means that leaders need to ensure they are at the forefront of best practice to protect their business and its employees.
A psychosocial hazard in the context of the workplace refers to any aspect of work that can potentially cause psychological or physical harm due to stress. Some common examples that can lead to psychosocial hazards are poor workplace relationships, sexual harassment, bullying, inappropriate job design and inadequate change management.
